Drawing on a rich heritage dating back to the 18th Century, Stamford Arts Centre provides you with the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide selection of art forms from theatre, music and film to sculpture, dance and drawing, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Throughout the year professional touring theatre companies visit our 166 seat theatre as well as five weeks of drama from our resident Shoestring Theatre Company. The theatre also doubles up as our cinema which, over the last 20 years, has become a film hub for Stamford showing a wide range of genres including Hollywood blockbusters, British, European and Art House to name a few.
Our beautiful ballroom hosts a variety of concerts including our classical music season that runs from October through to May, as well as dances and workshops. The ballroom is available to hire at selected times along with several other multifunctional rooms for everything from meetings to evening functions. Visit room hire & exhibitions for further information.
Our tremendous gallery is spacious, light and airy; open from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to 9pm and it’s free to look around. The main gallery accommodates an interesting and varied programme of contemporary exhibitions from local and international artists including photography, painting, textile, drawing and sculpture.
Pieces are also displayed in the foyer coffee shop, which generally exhibits work by our artists in residence, as well as the ante room where works by the Welland Valley Art Society are displayed. If you are interested in exhibiting your work, visit room hire and exhibitions for more information.
If you would like to start, further or refresh a hobby then do take a look at our workshops for adults and children that run daily. Drama, singing, dancing and art are all catered for and much more, so whatever your taste, we’ll have something for you. To see what’s on at the moment, click workshops in the left hand column.
Anyway, enough about us, we hope you enjoy using our website and if you have any problems please email email@example.com
