Their work is on display on the walls in the Arts Centre front coffee shop area.

I specialise in producing contemporary oil paintings predominantly figurative within urban or rural landscapes. I also produce a wide range of charcoal drawings and etchings. I am available to work on commission and my work can be viewed by appointment at The Arts Centre.

CATHERINE HEADLEY

When painting my aim is to fully express myself.  Every person has an inner, unseen self: one is aware of it because it has an energy, but it cannot be verbally expressed.  Each time I start a painting it is the beginning of a journey into the unknown and that’s exciting but the journey can become long and arduous, fraught with difficulties, other times it is relatively smooth, although one has always to get lost before one reaches the end.  The end, what is it; a relief and recognition of something I wanted to say, something that made complete sense; ultimately, a surprise.

If my work resonates with others then that’s a bonus.
