Ages 15 to 22
SSYT is a unique young people's theatre company open to 15 to 22 year olds who are committed to creating exciting original and innovative theatre.
Members of SSYT are given the rare opportunity to produce and tour their productions annually to schools and arts centres throughout the East Midlands. They learn and understand what it means to be part of an ensemble touring company along with how to facilitate and lead workshops.
Members who are skilled in music, singing, dance and comedy will also have the chance to share the stage with professional artists and showcase their individual talents at the popular annual event SSYT LIVE which will be held in February.
For those young people who are interested in pursuing a career in the dramatic arts, gaining valuable experience and training or for those who simply wish to share their passion for drama with other like minded young people, then SSYT is the place for you.
Entry is by audition in late summer and this year's group has now been auditioned and chosen.

Productions and Touring:
All SSYT plays are produced to the highest professional standard. Many are original works devised and created for and by the actors themselves. All plays are relevant to youth audiences in particular.
The plays are produced at Stamford Arts Centre in May and taken on the road in July and brought on tour to secondary schools, community venues, theatres and arts centres in the region. This gives our actors the rare chance to reach larger audiences. They experience first hand the excitement of playing to diverse groups and in a variety of different venues.
As part of the touring process, the young actors are also trained in facilitation and learn how to take workshops and motivate other young people.
SSYT members also take part and take performances to festivals throughout the UK.
