One Man Lord of the Rings
Tuesday 9 February, 7.30pm
In approximately 60 minutes, Canadian actor Charles Ross - creator of the hugely successful One-Man Star Wars Trilogy - whips through ‘The Fellowship Of The Ring’, ‘The Two Towers’ and ‘The Return Of The King’ in ‘One Man Lord of Rings’. Where Peter Jackson spent millions of dollars, around ten hours of film and enough special effects to keep an army of computer whiz-kids busy for a very long time, Ross recreates Tolkien’s Middle-earth armed with nothing more than a pair of elbow pads, his outrageous imagination and 3,600 seconds of unbelievable kinetic entertainment. If you’ve seen the films, read the books and named your first-born Frodo - you’ll love this show - and if you’ve managed to escape Tolkien-mania, it’s a brilliant bite-sized take on a classic epic.

Tom Wrigglesworth’s
Open Return Letter to Richard Branson
Friday 12 February, 7.30pm
Tom Wrigglesworth, having witnessed a Virgin train manager abusing his position (to the extent that Hitler would've watched admiringly and taken notes) writes to Richard Branson about one random act of kindness which caused good to triumph over evil. Tom recounts his hilarious and heart-warming true story involving an old lady, the world’s biggest jobsworth, his fellow train passengers, a brown paper bag and an arrest. Direct from a sell-out run at the Edinburgh festival and nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2009, this is an hysterical, magical and inspiring piece of storytelling, exquisitely performed.
