Bringing Opera to Stamford
South Kesteven District Council’s Arts Centre on St Mary’s Street, Stamford, is to screen ten Met Opera performances as their busy Autumn programme gets underway.
As part of The Met: Live in HD series, the dazzling performances will be screened at the Stamford Arts Centre, enabling the opera to be enjoyed more widely.
The Met is the vibrant home of creatives from across the world. Singers, conductors, designers and more work together to develop performances that are attended by over 800,000 theatre lovers in New York, and millions more through digital technologies.
The 137th season begins with ‘Medea’ on 29th October through to Mozart’s fable ‘Die Zauberflöte’ ending the season on 3rd June 2023.

As well as The Met performances, a packed Autumn programme for the Stamford Arts Centre includes a Dyad Productions performance of Virginia Woolf’s ‘A Room of One’s Own’ on 5th October.
The Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment delight audiences on 8th October with their authentic performances of 17th Century works whilst the Isle of Skye hailing Peatbog Faeries bring their high-octane melodies and traditional sounds on 14th October.
