Thomas Mann’s ‘Death in Venice’.
A wonderful exploration of love in old age. Mann is recounting his real meeting between a young and very beautiful boy and an aging artist dying in Venice. The ‘something unspoken’ is that the love is unconsummated but more powerful because of it.
Talk by Dr Jane MacKay.
Please note there will be no film screening to accompany this talk.
