Nightmare Alley

Nightmare Alley 15

Another impressive statement from the master of fantastic cinema Guillermo del Toro.

Cinema Speak after the film in the gallery bar Tues 22 March.

Dir: Guillermo del Toro USA 2021 2hrs 30mins

With: Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett

Based on a classic Hollywood film-noir from 1947 Nightmare Alley is set amongst the shady characters in a travelling carnival and one very dubious man in particular who gradually learns the tricks of the mind-reading trade and is soon making big money in glitzy nightclubs. Then in one such establishment he meets a beautiful psychiatrist (Blanchett) who is as manipulative as he is and the two of them plot a dream that seriously turns into a very twisted nightmare. Another impressive statement from the master of fantastic cinema Guillermo del Toro.
