Dir: Kenneth Branagh UK 2021 1hr 38mins
With: Judi Dench, Jamie Dorman
Loosely based on director Kenneth Brangan’s own childhood in the city of Belfast this glorious black and white award-winning film centres on an innocent family caught up in The Troubles of the 1960s.
Yet although the times were violent and unpredictable Branagh manages to evoke warm, touching, even comic episodes that bring the past to life on screen.
Superb.
