A young Finnish woman escapes an enigmatic love affair in Moscow by boarding a train to the arctic port of Murmansk. Forced to share the seemingly endless ride in the random company of a young Russian miner in a tiny sleeping car, the unexpected encounter leads the occupants of Compartment No. 6 to gradually face the truth about their own yearning for human connection. A true-to-life story that that by the end of the film you know these characters so well they seem like old friends. A traveller’s tale of constant surprises.
