Part of Stamford Verse Festival
Multi award winning poet and author Joelle Taylor brings a selection of her work to Stamford following an international tour that included Sydney Opera House.
This will include readings from the TS Eliot Prize-winning poetry collection C+NTO & Othered Poems as well as selections from her latest book The Night Alphabet.
C+nto tells the story of the LGBT counterculture of the 1990’s. It is part memoir and part magic trick, an honouring of the brave and irreverent women who transformed queer life in the UK. It is a book of love, grief, community, and the continuing fight for justice. Released in February 2024, The Night Alphabet is Joelle’s debut novel. Set across geographies and timespans, it is a deep and bold investigation into violence, resilience and women’s stories.
