Eeking out a hard living on a remote Icelandic sheep farm a childless couple discover a newborn that they come to love and cherish as if it were their own. Except the youngster they adore is very different from other children and the couple’s joy is gradually undermined as something entirely monstrous emerges from the harsh and barren land.
