Nottingham double bassist Martyn Spencer steps out from the back of the bandstand to lead this dynamic piano trio, focusing on the great bass players across the history of Jazz, and the influence of the low end instrument in shaping the course of the music.
Since leaving Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2007, Martyn has performed nationally and internationally as a side man with many acclaimed musicians in the Jazz and Popular music genres. Joining Martyn at the piano is Andrezj Baranek, one of the most highly regarded jazz pianists on the UK jazz scene. Completing the line up is one of the most in-demand drummers in the Midlands, Andrew Wood.
