Stamford Shoestring Theatre Company presents
Metamorphosis
By Steven Berkoff
Adapted from the story by Franz Kafka
"As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning he found out that he had transformed into a gigantic insect"
Franz Kafka's timeless reflection on alienation, dehumanisation and the love of the family is given a stunning stage adaptation by theatre maverick, Steven Berkoff.
The Samsa family live in a cramped, early 20th century Eastern Europe house where they survive through their salesman son Gregor, who works endless hours to provide for their lives. But as Gregor goes to bed one evening feeling particularly ill he awakes the next day to find all their lives changed forever...
Using strong physical storytelling and dazzling ensemble work this surreal story comes to life and aims to amaze and move in equal measure.
This amateur production of “Metamorphosis” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk
