Music in Quiet Places at St Peter’s Church Ropsley

An Online Concert by The Chapel Hill Duo

TRAILER:

“One of our passions as musicians is exploring music from a wide variety of styles, and over the years we have discovered a few gems which really stand out. At first glance the programme might seem like a random selection of music, but there are common themes and links between most of the pieces. Underlying themes of friendship, strength, love and togetherness appear throughout, qualities that we feel are vitally important, especially at the moment. It doesn’t matter whether you’re into classical music or pop or rock, these are pieces of music that we feel everyone can appreciate no matter what genre it’s from. Who knows, perhaps you might discover a piece of music today that you would never have thought of listening to because it’s not from your ‘go-to’ genre.”

The Chapel Hill Duo’s music goes beyond the boundaries of genre and challenges the ‘classical’ Violin and Cello stereotypes. With years of experience performing Pop, Jazz, Classical, Film and Folk music, and a firm grounding in the perfection of Classical virtuosity, they explore the limits of what is possible with just two musicians, a Violin and a Cello. The Duo also go by the name An Dhá (meaning ‘The Two’ in Gaelic) playing folk/jazz inspired original compositions and arrangements. They have produced and released five albums, as well as numerous singles, and won several awards under both names.
