Another in Philippa’s occasional series about the crafts, artisans and tradespeople of the town and area, from the wealth of information available. This time she looks at two very different occupations, the carriers of the town and the clockmakers. Philippa looks at what comprised these trades, and the many different skills which were used by these tradespeople fulfil their occupations. She also plots where they worked, and what part they played in the commerce of the town.
