Claude Barras’ follow-up to his Oscar-nominated animation My Life as a Courgette is a vivid, gorgeously realised stop-motion animation with an urgent environmental message.

11-year-old Kéria lives in the Borneo jungle with her father. She’s passionate about the environment and news that their family home is under threat from deforestation only makes her more so, especially when she meets Oshi, an orphaned orangutan – but their budding friendship is cut short by a visit from Kéria’s cousin Selaï. When Selaï runs away with Oshi, an anxious Kéria must venture deeper into the forest than ever before.

Please note – this stunning ecological fable explores themes such as discrimination and violence towards animals which younger viewers may find upsetting. Due to it’s depiction of other cultures, there are scenes containing non-sexualised nudity as well as one brief moment of mild visual swearing. We therefore suggest it’s suitability for ages 10+
