A fun batik workshop with artist Rose Croft creating your own design. Students will be supported to develop their own design, considering colour and composition. Then using the traditional wax method, paint and create their design as a textile work with the resist method on fabric.

Hojalata Metal Embossing Fun

Creative workshop learning simple embossing & tooling techniques to work thin sheet metal into beautiful, ornate raised designs. 'Hojalata' is the traditional Mexican art form of working tin to create bas-relief pictures using the repoussage techniques of embossing and engraving. At this workshop, students will be supported to create their own unique designs and reproduce them in metal with simple embossing and tooling techniques, cutting the metal sheet to their chosen shape to decorate with their colourful designs.

3 Dimensional Papercraft Sculpture

A fun, imaginative workshop with artist Sam Roddan using variety of materials and techniques to create 3D paper sculptures. Utilising a variety of mark making media from Posca paint markers to wet graphite sticks and paint, we’ll create and pattern papers to sculpt into 3d forms with multi-layered, detailed designs. Students will be supported and encouraged to use their imaginations to design their own sculptures which could be harmonious abstracts, or inspired by fantasy lands or creatures, wherever their imagination takes them – they will develop original ideas and creations learning skills and techniques that can be continued at home.

Venue: Stamford Arts Centre Art Room

Ages: Suitable for ages 6+

Tickets: £24 per workshop session, all materials provided.

Please wear clothing suitable for messy creating! We do not provide aprons to protect clothing – bring your own if desired.
