The festival opens with a vibrant celebration of Spanish colors and rhythms, from the fiery passion of Bizet’s Carmen to the rich Andalusian landscapes of Turina. - Soloist Edgar Francis. Chabrier’s exuberant España reflects the French fascination with Spanish music, while Schubert’s beloved Trout Quintet embodies the SIMFestival’s tradition of programming famous chamber works alongside lesser-known gems.

Stamford International Music Festival 2025 May 15th-17th
Led by international violinist and festival director Freya Goldmark, SIMFestival is a vibrant annual celebration of chamber music, bringing together 14 exceptional musicians for an intimate and dynamic series of performances each May. Our 2025 festival embraces the Sounds of Spain, showcasing works by Bizet, Turina, de Falla, Boccherini and Granados alongside beloved masterpieces by Schubert, Mendelssohn, Bach and Haydn. With large ensemble pieces, solo recitals, a world premiere and a dedicated children’s concert, the festival offers a chance to hear some of the best chamber music performed in the historic town of Stamford.
