Oscar winner Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) and Small Things Like These director Tim Mielants reunite for a powerful adaptation of Max Porter’s bestselling novella Shy.

It’s the mid-’90s. Steve (Murphy) is the passionate headteacher of a crumbling reform school for teenage boys. With meagre resources, overstretched staff, and a growing sense of futility, Steve fights to protect the school’s integrity amid an impending closure and grapples with his mental health. In parallel to Steve’s struggles, we meet Shy (Jay Lycurgo), a troubled teen caught between his past and what lies ahead as he tries to reconcile his inner fragility with an impulse for self-destruction and violence.
