Welcome the Summer with a Fruitcake Ceilidh, dance your socks off with the Fruitcake Band!

The Fruitcake Band is a local and very popular English ceilidh band. They bring together some of the best local traditional musicians to produce an exciting and energetic sound with melodeon, fiddle, whistles, mandolin, guitar, bouzouki and hammered dulcimer. They have regularly played for local village and other social events so it is fitting that we have them now in the Ballroom.

The caller, Maggie Wood, has huge experience of leading total beginners as well as more confident dancers with calm, good humour. So come along to this fun evening of dance suitable for all the family.

The Fruitcake Band are Alan Wood, on melodeon, hammered dulcimer, Si Garbutt on whistles, Steve Youngman on guitar and mandolin, Tim Richards on fiddle and bouzouki and caller Maggie Wood on percussion.

We are also pleased to welcome a new local Ukrainian dance group, with Maryna Vashchenko to teach us a few of their wonderful dances at some time during the evening.
