Oscar nominee Paul Mescal (Aftersun, Hamnet) and BAFTA nominee Josh O'Connor (Challengers, The Crown) are superb as star-crossed lovers in this sweeping WWI-era romance.

When Lionel (Mescal) and David (O’Connor) meet over the top of a piano in a Boston college bar, there’s an instant spark. One is a talented vocal student, the other a composition major preoccupied with cataloguing rural folk music. Their shared passion for song brings them together, but the onset of WWI tears them apart.

Oliver Hermanus’s wistful, unusual period romance is full of wonderful music, beautifully sung by both actors.
