Dir: Colm Bairéad Ireland 2022 1hr 34mins Part subtitled
With: Catherine Clinch, Carrie Crowley
Set in 1981, this film tells the story of a young girl, Cait, who is sent away for the summer from her dysfunctional family to live with "her mother's people" elsewhere in the Republic. The couple who take her in are middle-aged relatives Cait has never met before yet who slowly allow the “quiet girl” to blossom and discover a new way of living. Partly in Gaelic and English this all but perfect little film is about love and hope and the difficulty of holding on to such things where families are concerned.
