Dir: Joanna Hogg UK 2021 1hr 47mins
With: Honor Swinton Byrne, Richard Ayoade
A stunning sequel to Joanna Hogg's autobiographical The Souvenir from 2019, part two follows aspiring film-student Julie trying to restore some meaning to her life following a disastrous affair. To that end she sets her sights on completing her graduation film which inevitably touches on the emotional wreckage she is trying to recover from.
Executive produced by Martin Scorsese and featuring Tilda Swinton as both the lead actress's mother as well as in real life this is strong, compelling, British cinema of the finest order.
