The World To Come

The World To Come 15

Set in the 1850s, two couples battle hardship on the East Coast frontier.

Dir: Mona Fastvold USA 2020 1hr 45mins

With: Katherine Waterston, Casey Affleck

Upstate New York, 1850. Abigail lives on a rural farm with her husband Dyer. But as the seasons come and go her complex emotions are revealed through her diary entries even though, on the surface she is stoic and tight-lipped. Then, with Spring, comes Tallie, a frank and arrestingly beautiful newcomer renting a neighbouring farm with her husband, Finney.

The two strike up a tentative relationship, filling a void in their lives which neither knew existed. Stunning.
