Till (12A)

Till (12A)

Dir: Chinonye Chukwu USA 2022 2hrs 10mins

With: Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall

Till is a profoundly emotional and cinematic film about the true story of Mamie Till Mobley's relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was brutally lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi. In Mamie's poignant journey of grief turned to action, we see the universal power of a mother's ability to change the world, an effort that marked the beginning of the US Civil Rights movement’s historic opposition to white racism.

“Till asks us to look beyond individual legal outcomes and see the bigger picture – to take strength from tragedy and find hope even in despair” The Observer
