How do you find lasting love in today's world? For documentary-filmmaker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs, all to the dismay of her eccentric mother (Emma Thompson). For Zoe's now grown-up Pakistani childhood friend however the answer is simple: follow his parents' example and opt for an arranged marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from the home country. Cue Zoe filming her friend’s colourful journey from London to Lahore, where the feeling starts to dawn on her that a profoundly different approach might just work after all.
