Zola

Zola 18

A dazzling mash-up of sex, sleaze, comedy, and thrills

Dir: Janicza Bravo USA 2020 1hr 26mins

With: Taylour Paige, Riley Keough

Based on real events told in a popular twitter thread containing 148 tweets written by Detroit waitress A'Ziah "Zola" King in 2015 this wacky in-yer-face account of Zola zipping down to Florida for a weekend of pole-dancing with her new friend Stefani, who’s a stripper and part-time prostitute, plus her boyfriend, and Stefani’s pimp, is a dazzling mash-up of sex, sleaze, comedy, and thrills that’s explicitly naughty but arguably in cinematic terms, nice.

“The greatest stripper saga ever tweeted” Rolling Stone
