Charlie Parker was one of the most important figureheads in the development of jazz music, pioneering the ‘bebop’ style.
This quartet comes together to explore the Parker catalogue of compositions, which include Yardbird Suite, Anthropology & Moose The Mooche.
Joining us at Stamford Arts Centre for the first time we welcome Alan Barnes, one of the UK’s finest jazz virtuoso saxophonists. Alan is a prolific international performer, composer, arranger, bandleader and touring soloist. He is best known for his work on clarinet, alto and baritone sax, where he combines a formidable virtuosity with a musical expression and collaborative spirit that have few peers.
Alongside Alan, we welcome Andrew Wood’s trio - featuring three of the finest jazz musicians in the East Midlands: Matthew Ratcliffe (piano), Martyn Spencer (double bass) & Andrew Wood (drums).
Tickets £12 (£10) (includes £1 off first drink voucher)
