1927: Don Lockwood has ascended from song-and-dance man to leading movie star. His on-screen partner, Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) believes she and Don are in love. But with the arrival of the ‘talkies’, her squawky voice must be dubbed – and the girl chosen to be her voice is 'serious' actress Kathy Selden (Reynolds), for whom Don promptly falls. Full of wit, energy and high spirits, Singin’ in the Rain is an indelible screen masterpiece, a joy from start to finish.
