With: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence
A grand satire on the inability of some people to ignore catastrophe even when it's literally falling on their heads Don't Look Up features a couple of low-profile US astronomers who discover that a meteor the size of Mt Everest is hurtling towards the Earth and that society has around six months to stop it. Except...no-one does. Politicians don't care. Big business doesn't care. The whole thing in the end feels like a hoax and no amount of truth-telling can change things.
The miracle though it that the film is almost a laugh-a-minute, full of verbal and visual gags brilliantly performed by a host of stars from DiCaprio and Lawrence to Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett and Mark Rylance. And on the big screen the whole things looks awesome.
