We are delighted to be joined by Roy Leighton, Dr. Hilary Cremin and her students from Cambridge Peace and Education Research Group (University of Cambridge) as they share their personal stories and poems about conflict from contexts such as Syria, Afghanistan and the UK. They explore how war and conflict is changing and how this affects arts-based peace-building work in and through education.
Following an introduction to CPERG and its work, this webinar will involve live and recorded performances of poems and readings of stories, by people in their own words from contexts such as Syria, Afghanistan and inner-city areas of the UK.
Hilary and her students have formed the Cambridge Peace Education Research Group and much of their work centres on the Arts and story-telling. This session will reveal the power of this work in working towards global justice.
