These fun, relaxed workshops are aimed at cellists from around Grade 4 upwards and will link the folk and classical music worlds. Working in small groups you’ll try special effects on the cello, learn to accompany a tune by ear with two chords and learn simple improvisation - in a non frightening way. If you want, you’ll also have a chance to try some of the pieces in the new cello and piano collection - Folk and Beyond - with pianist Fergus Black - either individually or in a group.
By the end of the course you’ll feel more confident on the cello, more relaxed about playing in groups and more free to use your imagination on your instrument.
Children’s workshop: 10.00am - 1.00pm
Adult’s workshop: 2.00pm - 5.00pm.
