Unfortunately, due to a family emergency within the cast, the performance of ‘Pleasure Incorporated’ on 14th May has now been cancelled. All customers have now been contacted and fully refunded.
What if sex workers could get drunk at the office Christmas party? Had colleagues they could gossip with? Went to performance reviews with their managers? What would it be like if the oldest profession in the world was just a regular office job?
Drawn from Jemima’s lived experience of escorting in Berlin and as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse (CSA), this lyrical one-woman play is an insightful, witty and sensitive exploration of one woman’s route to selling sex; what it means for her to do the work and how that spools out into her friendships, relationships and society.
Set in the cubicles and corridors of an imagined corporation, bringing together live performance and video art, Pleasure Incorporated is a funny, tender, surreal and compelling examination of Jemima’s search for answers; how to heal from childhood trauma, and how to gain bodily and financial autonomy in a hostile world.
Welcome to Pleasure Incorporated. We’re happy to have you here with us on another fine workday.
"Blown away - funny, moving, engrossing, clever. A fantastic exploration of the human experience.”
“Pleasure Incorporated is a rare blend of elements; considered, comic, insightful and disarming.”
