Amanda (Binoche) and her stepfather Martin (Courtenay) come into conflict over a moral quandary involving Amanda’s mother, Leslie (Calder-Marshall), who is suffering from advanced dementia. Is she still capable of making critical decisions for herself? If not, who is responsible for them and for her? Forced to make increasingly difficult choices, the repercussions for Amanda and Martin spiral out of their control.
