With: Letitia Wright, Tamarra Lawrence
Real life identical twins June and Jennifer Gibbons grew up in Wales and were part of the only Black family in a small town. Becoming known as "the silent twins" because of their refusal to communicate with anyone other than themselves they developed their own language and became catatonic when separated. Told with great care and sensitivity this emotional film captures the bond between the girls while avoiding any easy clues as to their behaviour.
"An engrossing, well-acted story – disturbing but also tender and sad" The Guardian
