Lantern Workshop - 2.30pm at Christchurch

Get hands on with Art Pop-up in this FREE workshop and create your own lantern to use during the lantern procession! All materials, and helpful instruction, will be provided. Suitable for all ages!

Lantern Procession - 4pm

The procession will be gathering in the carpark at Christchurch. Join in singing wassail songs as the lanterns are walked to the Stamford Community Orchard.

Stamford Wassail - 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Welcome in the New Year by joining in this noisy old English custom, sing to the trees and bang your old saucepans to bring a good harvest of apples. With seasonal songs, cider, apple juice, a warming brazier and mulled cider and apple juice. Bring your old saucepans, whistles and wooden spoons to make a row, torches and warm clothing, sparklers and ribbons if you have them. Stamford Community Orchard is at the end of Christ Church Close, off Green Lane PE9 1HS.
