Based on the true story behind world-renowned champagne business Veuve Clicquot, Widow Clicquot is a sweeping, inspiring and romantic period drama about a visionary young widow defying convention in 18th century France.
Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin Clicquot (Bennett) takes the reins of the fledgling wine business she started with her beloved late husband. Steering the company through dizzying political and financial reversals, she defies her scandalised critics and revolutionises the champagne industry to become one of the world's first great entrepreneurs.
