Your generation. You owe us a future. A chance at one at least
Do family ties make us act with more care or blind us to the facts? Albatross takes us to the very boundaries of love in the age of climate catastrophe.
Alice, a glaciologist, returns from Antarctica – back home to her daughter Alba and her mother Eve. There's been a flood, a new romance and now a strange gift. It’s 1.30am. Alba sleeps. Eve has never been more awake. And Alice? Maybe those cracks she discovered in the Antarctic ice have followed her home. And maybe they’re calling her to go back…
Award-winning Martha Loader is one of the finest young playwrights working in Britain today. Albatross asks us what we’re willing to sacrifice for a better future. It is explosive, tender and often hilarious. And it reveals the human heart to be more vulnerable than we hope but stronger than we believe.
