Dir: Phyllis Nagy USA 2022 2hrs
With: Elizabeth Banks, Sigourney Weaver
Set in America in 1968 this extraordinarily timely movie pivots on the need for a woman to have an abortion in order to protect her health but receives no comfort from the official medical authorities or the law. Having nowhere to turn the woman discovers a group known as "Call Jane" who offer life saving, if illegal, treatment. Based on the real historical support group known as Chicago's Underground Abortion Network this accessible and inspiring drama foregrounds a woman's right to choose in no uncertain way.
