Hugh Pascall is an award-winning trumpet player and composer from a musical family, born in Nottingham in 1983. He studied on the prestigious Royal Academy of Music jazz degree course with Gerard Presencer on a Full Entrance Scholarship, graduating in 2006.
His professional career as a trumpet player and composer has taken him around the world, working with a great variety of artists and productions, recently including Hans Koller's Birmingham Jazz Orchestra, John Turville's E17 Large Ensemble, The Dave Ferris Septet and New York's Last Poets.
He's also currently playing with Tony Kofi's Inside Straight alongside Dennis Rollins.
With far-reaching influences, his sound is characterised by bold creativity of harmony and language, a rich tone and a melodic line.
He cites influences such as Freddie Hubbard, Woody Shaw and Tom Harrell, in writing for his own quartet.
His debut album tour is taking place April and May 2022 and we're thrilled to have his quartet stop at Stamford Arts Centre.
